| £40m deal for Cable & Wireless |
| Cable & Wireless has agreed a two-year, £40 million contract to provide IP network services for Vodafone business customers. The telecoms firm is already a connectivity partner for the mobile phone giant. David Shaw, chief commercial officer at Cable & Wireless Europe, Asia and the US, told Computer Weekly that firms would mirror each others' next-generation network strategies. "Our strategy is to focus on the largest users of telecoms and to deliver what they want, when they want it," he said. Marcus Webb, Vodafone UK's head of carrier services, explained that Cable & Wireless was the best possible choice of partner. "We are looking to grow our market share in the UK and wanted a partner that understood our goals and could deliver against them," he commented. Cable & Wireless recently signed a three-year deal with callback specialists Netcall and will integrate a hosting platform into Netcall's QueueBuster product.  © Adfero Ltd |
