Businesses pleased with outsourcing

A new report from BT has found that over 40 per cent of British firms with a converged network are satisfied with their managed network services than they were prior to outsourcing.

According to the BT Convergence Services Report, the majority of businesses revealed cost effectiveness to be the most important factor in their satisfaction, with superior network performance and increased reliability also a bonus for bosses.

The report revealed that just over 25 per have all organisations that have invested in convergence now completely outsource their network management.

Jim Norton, a senior policy advisor for the Institute of Directors and a key contributor to the BT Convergences Services Report, commented on its findings.

"Organisations can benefit from embarking on IP convergence by taking advantage of this unique opportunity to update the way they manage their infrastructure," he said.

"As convergence is such a defined change, it allows them to draw a line under all of their old processes, configurations and work-styles and approach them in a more efficient and effective way."

Only six per cent of respondents said that they were less satisfied with their services partners since adopting convergence.
