Breaking news from ihotdesk, IT Security Solutions in London Posted by Steven Gaskill Hackers have claimed an attack on tech giant Apple, in which they stole details on user names and passwords. Members of Anonymous and Lulzsec reportedly claimed breaching the internet security of the iPad and iPhone manufacturer on Sunday night (July 3rd), the latest in a series of high profile attacks. However, the data stolen and subsequently posted on the internet, is thought to belong to the business intelligence unit and relates to internal names and passwords, rather than customer information. Apple have not yet confirmed what information, if any, was stolen from its systems. The group responsible for the attack on Apple has also hinted more could be on the cards in the future, posting on its Twitter account: "Apple could be target, too. But don't worry, we are busy elsewhere." Metropolitan police commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson recently described the spate of hacking attacks as being "deeply worrying", saying the challenges of combating cyber crime are "extraordinarily significant". ![]() |
