Posted by Paul Sells Cloud computing and associated technologies are driving a rise in IT jobs across the world, it has been claimed. According to Rackspace, firms are increasingly looking to employ workers who are knowledgeable about cloud computing in order to implement new strategies that could cut costs and boost productivity. Major cloud providers have also noted a rise in the number of clients requesting IT solutions, it noted. Hank Galligan of accounting firm BDO told the news source that it will be "interesting" to see how cloud computing grows once the economy bounces back. "The flexibility and scalability of cloud computing created cost-effective infrastructures that allowed adopters to weather the recession and emerge ahead of the curve. These forward-thinking companies are now giving the green light to new initiatives," Mr Galligan stated. IBM recently stated that it expects to generate $7 billion (£4.4 billion) from its cloud computing services by 2015. ![]() |
