Posted by Steven Gaskill Smartphone users have been warned that the occurrence of minor bugs in the mobile devices is, in many cases, an unfortunate inevitability. Matt Powell, tech expert at BroadbandGenie.co.uk, said the increased complexity of the handheld devices increases the risk of minor flaws "sneaking in". He also said that the immense popularity of smartphones means there's a greater likelihood of bugs being discovered by end users. "And of course once those bugs are found users will talk about them on Twitter and Facebook, giving it global exposure and media attention," Mr Powell commented. "We're far less forgiving of bugs once a technology has become commonplace, this is particularly true of something like the iPhone which has a reputation for being slick and easily accessible to beginners." He suggested that if manufacturers continue to rush products to market – such as tablet rivals to the Apple iPad – users will keep identifying flaws with the operating systems. Mr Powell said that not every manufacturer applies the same level of quality checking before putting items on general sale. ![]() |
