Posted by Steven Gaskill More businesses and consumers are tapping into the benefits of mobile technology, it has been reported. Technology writer Zara Rabinowicz said that the development of new applications and availability of value-for-money tariffs has driven higher uptake. She claimed that mobile devices are becoming increasingly important in the modern world, with the rise of the application market ensuring "seamless delivery of content to the source". IDC expects nearly 25 billion mobile apps to be downloaded in 2011, up from just over ten billion in 2010. Ms Rabinowicz also commented that low mobile tariffs have encouraged more consumers to use the technology. "These allow a greater number of people to enjoy mobile web access, and this type of interconnectivity feeds into other avenues such as location-based gaming and tracking," she said. ![]() |
