Businesses may outsource their IT to deal with security threats
Posted by Steven Gaskill

IT outsourcing may be the solution for businesses facing up to the challenge of security and virus threats on their wireless networks.

Recent media reports have revealed a worrying trend in China, where online retailers are selling kits which enable the buyer to hack into Wi-Fi networks with relative ease.

As wireless internet is so widely used, "you have to layer on various levels of security", to secure your wireless netowkr, says Simon Pamplin, a systems engineer for Brocade, a networking solutions company.

Virus firm Symantec reported last month that malicious internet programs increased by 100 per cent between 2008 and 2009, highlighting the need for businesses to call on the help of skilled IT workers.

At the recent Infosecurity World 2010 event, Verizon internet security expert Dr Peter Tippett predicted the IT security industry will increase its levels of efficiency in the next decade as responses to threats became more measured and scientific.
