Posted by Louise Tate Outsourcing agreements with business outcomes written into them will help service providers and their clients battle against the recession, reports Computer Weekly. Industry analyst Gartner recently revealed that worldwide IT spending fell by 5.3 per cent in 2009, but rather than dissuade companies from outsourcing, it encouraged them to think more carefully about what they wanted from their suppliers. And Gartner said providers that had forged positive partnerships with their clients could reap the benefits in 2010. "Business outcome-focused providers of services with established business relationships were often successful in growing their market share better than the market average," the industry analyst added. The key focus for both providers and clients now, having shared the pain of 2009, is to work together to "enjoy the gain" of the year ahead, Computer Weekly said. Gartner forecast a good year ahead for the IT industry as a whole, which bodes well for the outsourcing sector. ![]() |
