Posted by Jessie Richards More businesses are using hosted IP private branch exchange (PBX) for their VoIP communications, which could interest IT outsourcing users. A new report from business strategy consultancy Global Industry Analysts found that traditional digital communication technologies are being replaced by newer IP PBX systems, which offer improved performance and lower costs. David Lemelin, practice leader and senior analyst at market intelligence company In-Stat, said the approach is proving popular with IT outsourcing users because it is more attractive in terms of management, security and integration. In addition, he predicted that IP PBX systems allow firms to benefit from a higher average revenue per user, which offers a significant advantage as companies attempt to recover from the recession. The expert also claimed that IP telephony will continue to be popular in the future, stating: "Convergence with unified communications capabilities and mobile integration are also compelling factors driving adoption and expansion of VoIP solutions." ![]() |
