Posted by Paul Sells Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK are becoming increasingly confident when it comes to keeping in contact with their customers online, it has been revealed. Research carried out by Daryl Willcox Publishing found that use of social media in particular is becoming increasingly popular as a marketing tool among SMEs' IT plans. Half of firms surveyed said they are very confident when communicating with existing and potential customers online, while a further 35 per cent are fairly confident. Founder of the group Daryl Willcox commented: "Companies realise the importance of being visible online and are recognising the benefits of having an up-to-date digital presence." He added that many SMEs are combining social media with more traditional marketing techniques. Last week, Julie Meyer, star of BBC's Dragons' Den Online, stressed that keeping costs to a minimum is particularly important for smaller firms, highlighting the money-saving benefits of IT outsourcing. ![]() |
