Written by Paul Sells Businesses can find that implementing cloud server IT projects can lead to a range of benefits, which may interest those considering using IT services. David Pratt, chief operations officer at ThinkGrid, claimed that the technology allows small companies to increase capacity and avoid incurring large costs. "[Cloud servers] give an organisation additional agility and they give you enterprise level IT without having the expense," he explained. "[Small firms] just haven't got the budget or resources to pour into their IT." Mr Pratt highlighted that one of the advantages of cloud servers is that companies do not have to pay for their storage space in advance, but can use it on an as-you-go basis. In addition, the expert pointed out that businesses are increasingly adopting remote working, which means that office-based servers are becoming inefficient when compared to their alternatives in the cloud. Research from Gooroo published earlier this year claimed 54 per cent of small firms will be using cloud software solutions for core functions by the end of next year. ![]() |
