Microsoft resolving SharePoint issues
Written by Paul Sells

Microsoft is attempting to iron out some of the problems which users have encountered with its SharePoint platform, an expert has claimed.

Speaking at the recent AIIM Roadshow, Duncan Williams, sales and marketing director at Deltascheme, revealed that the full beta version of SharePoint is expected to be launched in the third quarter of 2009.

He commented: "Microsoft are doing a lot of work around the architecture. [Previously this has] raised criticism."

Mr Williams explained that the software giant has taken these points on board and is attempting to improve the architecture, stability and structural resilience of the platform.

Furthermore, the expert claimed that Microsoft is trying to make SharePoint an industry strength enterprise content management tool, which is suited to management of records and metadata.

Last week, a spokeswoman for Microsoft claimed that SharePoint Server 2007 is one of the firm's fastest growing server businesses and said that companies find it can bring value to their organisation on many levels.ADNFCR-8000229-ID-19225694-ADNFCR
