Businesses which have websites need to ensure their technology can cope with spikes in levels of traffic, according to an expert. "If the peaks are very, very high then site performance is likely to suffer unless the site owner has invested in enough server capacity to deal with them," says Ben Camm-Jones, news editor at Web-User Magazine. He recommends firms make sure their websites can handle large volumes of traffic as otherwise customers may look elsewhere if they cannot access the pages they want, which may prompt enterprises to seek London IT support. Mr Camm-Jones states that one way of dealing with the problem is to offer a low-graphics version of the site, particularly if it usually carries large amounts of rich content. According to the Alexa Traffic Rankings, Google UK is the website which is most visited by the country's internet users, followed by Facebook and Microsoft's Window's Live. ![]() |
