Motorola has launched a new mobile device which combines WiMax, WiFi, VoIP and Ethernet. The new wi4 WiMAX cpei 755 includes a modem, router, ATA ports and will be available to service providers in a variety of colours. "Multimedia-dependent consumers keep a close eye on the evolving capabilities of wireless broadband and increase their expectations at a rapid pace; not just more, faster data, but data wherever, however, and whenever they want it," said Charles Riggle, senior director of strategy and business development at Motorola Home and Networks Mobility. The device boasts some of the most advanced antenna designs available and does not need to be rotated to find a good signal, which makes it easier to install, the firm says. Last week, Global Peopleline Telecom announced the launch of a new online fax service for VoIP customers, allowing them instant access at any time or from any location to an unlimited number of documents. The firm says corporate e-fax provides customers with the facility to convert documents to PDF files as well as annotate, highlight, forward and store them. ![]() |
