The next generation of IT Service megavendors will consist of firms collectively known as the India Three, it has been claimed. According to IT analyst Gartner, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys Technologies and Wipro Technologies are increasingly being considered for strategic service deals that would have previously gone to giants such as IBM Global Services, Accenture and EDS. Partha Iyengar, vice president, distinguished analyst and regional research director at Gartner, said the emerging megavendors' revenue increased 2.6 times between 2004 and 2007. He added: "This level of growth differential has continued even as these vendors have become multibillion dollar enterprises. "To put this in context, there are just 100 service enterprises globally with more than $1 billion (£500 million) in revenue." Earlier this week, OnlineRecruitment.com reported comments made by Mark MacGregor, chief executive of IT support company Connect, that the credit crunch is increasing the demand for IT outsourcing in the UK recruitment sector. ![]() |
