Skype for business solutions developer VoSKY has formed a partnership with a voice over internet protocol (VoIP) firm to provide remote communications.

VoSKY has signed a deal with AltiGen which will combine the latter firm's VoIP communication solutions with its own Skype applications to comprise a feature entitled Skype Extension Anywhere.

David Tang, vice president of global marketing at VoSKY, said: "Work is no longer restricted to inside the four walls of the office.

"To effectively mobilize the employee base, it's essential to equip remote workers with the same communication tools as their colleagues in the office."

He added that with the new Skype Extension Anywhere application, companies will have an "affordable and easy" way to connect their mobile workforce.

The feature allows companies to connect employees through Skye's scalable VoIP network with the aim of reducing the cost of remote communication.

In related news, Panasonic has announced that it is releasing its KX-WP800 Skype phone in Japan at the end of this month.
