Sony has launched a new range of voice over internet protocol (VoIP) compatible headsets this week.

The Japanese electronics firm designed the range to improve the quality of voice transmission over the internet and the headsets feature Sony's noise-cancelling technology, which reduces "sound leakage".

Designed to meet the needs of a range of applications, the five headsets are available in a range of colours and styles.

Top of the range is the DR-EX230DP, which features silicon headphones in three sizes, an in-line microphone and travel case.

For those looking for a slightly less-fancy model there is also the DR-220DRPV, which has added volume control.

Alternatively the DR-G250DP is designed for travel use whereas the DR-220DP is the basic model and comes in a choice of silver or metallic orange.

The range also features a hands-free stereo handset with a detachable USB microphone and volume control unit, to compliment the VoIP headsets.

Headsets will range in price from £18 to £34.
