Owners of iPods are being offered the chance to customise their devices. is offering owners of the Apple music player the chance to create a new skin for their device, which is then manufactured by the company.

According to, being able to make changes to their music players helps owners achieve a "unique level of personalisation".

The company says: "Tego Skins can be removed with ease, and changed from month to month, or concert to concert, depending on the customers preference based on the season, favourite new band, latest fashion trend, newest bf/gf, or whatever."

Owners of the super-slim iPod nano have been the quickest to catch on to the service.

Earlier this year Apple launched a pink model to its line of iPod Nanos, which is available in 8Gb form and retails at $199 (£101).

Apple has also attracted attention this year after releasing its new MacBook Air, which has been billed as the "world's thinnest laptop".
