A US management consultancy has announced its plans to set up IT outsourcing operations in China.

The InnoVest Group will establish outsourcing operations in Tianjin and Guangzhou after visiting China as part of the US Outsourcing Delegation team during the Global Outsourcing Summit last year.

David Dastvar, managing partner of InnoVest, met with the former prime minister of Australia, Bob Hawke, in China and visited Guangzhou University which has around 150,000 students and 50,000 lecturers and support staff.

Mr Dastvar also visited information technology outsourcing and business process outsourcing firms while in Beijing, such as Isoftstone and GDS.

The first Global Outsourcing Summit kicked off in Tianjin last month and at this conference Mr Dastvar, who was one of the event's key speakers, expressed InnoVest's interest in establishing IT outsourcing operations in China.

He also gave a presentation highlighting the reasons why China is preferable to India as an IT outsourcing partner for US firms.

An increasing number of firms, large and small, are choosing to outsource a number of their business processes.

Smaller firms are now also waking up to the benefits of outsourcing, taking advantage of local IT outsourcing firms in cities such as London and Manchester.
