The free software programme Adobe Reader 8 is now available, with greater customisation and new features. A new 'start meeting' button enables online collaboration through Adobe Acrobat Connect, which could signal new communication methods for the 700 million connected PCs and devices worldwide that have the programme installed. Adobe Reader 8 streamlines trusted PDF interactions and allows the user to customise the programme to a higher degree. Kevin Lynch, senior vice president and chief software architect at Adobe, stated: "As people increasingly communicate and collaborate across the internet, Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat Connect enable an effective workflow around documents, reliably reaching people around the world. "The new streamlined user interface and graphics acceleration in Reader 8 will enable people to more easily engage with ideas and information." Toolbars and the general interface of the programme have been revamped to deliver a new appearance. © Adfero Ltd |
