Microsoft is the operating system of choice for outsourcing IT professionals, according to reports.

Windows enables users to plan out long-term strategies and the majority of Microsoft experts are heavily experienced in their field.

ComputerWeekly stated: "The product roadmap is well defined, which enables the outsourcer to plan migrations, product offerings and strategies years in advance.

"Microsoft's products represent the best solution for any outsourcing company."

The software giant is due to launch Windows Vista, its new desktop, at the beginning of 2007. The new package promises to revolutionise the Windows experience and improve security.

Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) will also be part of the software release.

Outsourcing is seen by many companies as an excellent option in expanding IT capabilities and becoming more efficient, without having to set up an expensive extension to an in-house team.

Additional IT support to supplement a company department or the complete outsourcing of a whole division can maintain a consistent level of IT with little in the way of expensive over-heads.
