In a move aimed to assist businesses worldwide, Microsoft has teamed up with SAP to introduce a product called Duet.

According to Forbes, one of the chief advantages of the product is that workers will be able to receive event-based alerts and notifications from SAP applications in Outlook. As actionable terms, data adjustments can be made offline and they will be automatically synchronised when the computer is back online.

Shai Agassi, the president of the Product and Technology Group at SAP, commented: "With Duet, information workers will have better visibility into enterprise information and increase their efficiency, allowing them to make faster and more accurate decisions by making enterprise processes more accessible."

In an increasingly competitive business environment, IT support is widely seen as one of the biggest differentiators between dynamic and inert businesses, with IT outsourcing in particular perceived as a crucial cost-cutting arrangement.

In London, IT support is taking a prominent role in the way that businesses plan for success and implementing technology solutions is an important aspect of this.

Microsoft and SAP will be hoping that their Duet offering will meet with approval when the commercial version is released in June.
