Roaming VoIP on the way
Telecoms firm EnGenius are to launch a new SIP-based phone that will allow VoIP calls to be made from any wireless network connection in the world.

The EnGenius SI-680H handset will afford businesses the opportunity to introduce cost-effective mobile working to their employees.

Using the £100 phone will be simple, thanks to its intuitive interface and easy installation on any WLAN network.

Steve Mace, of Solwise, said: "With Voice over IP technology making huge strides, it's clearly emerging as the future of telephone communication."

He added: "The compact EnGenius WiFi phone will enable VOIP users to take the technology to a whole new level."

The handset will be compatible with IEE 802.11 standards, is WPA certified and weighs just 98 grams.

It also includes its own security WEP key and options for call forwarding, call transfer and call history.
