Telecoms firm EnGenius are to launch a new SIP-based phone that will allow VoIP calls to be made from any wireless network connection in the world. The EnGenius SI-680H handset will afford businesses the opportunity to introduce cost-effective mobile working to their employees. Using the £100 phone will be simple, thanks to its intuitive interface and easy installation on any WLAN network. Steve Mace, of Solwise, said: "With Voice over IP technology making huge strides, it's clearly emerging as the future of telephone communication." He added: "The compact EnGenius WiFi phone will enable VOIP users to take the technology to a whole new level." The handset will be compatible with IEE 802.11 standards, is WPA certified and weighs just 98 grams.
