Many small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) are planning to outsource their IT management processes in the near future, claims a new report. Research by Forrester suggests that the integration of IT support in to SMEs will become a boom area for IT outsourcers over the next five years, reports One Stop Click. Forrester claims that companies offering IT support services will have to adapt their business models to meet the expected influx of SMEs requiring outsourcing services. The report adds that private contractors will increasingly undertake both the implementation and ongoing support of IT management processes. Andrew Parker, the vice president of Forrester, commented: "We'll see stable operations farmed out to third parties, new IP sourced from open communities and solution brokers, emerging technologies going to market wrapped in process bundles and new software investments based on subscription rather than ownership." Greater efficiency and improved cost savings are believed to be among the reasons SMEs will turn to IT outsourcers, with the added expertise that professional IT support firms can offer being another major factor. © Adfero Ltd |
